Second Franco American Workshop On CyberSecurity, January 20-21, 2014

The workshop that will be held at the University of Arizona between January 20-21, 2014, will present ongoing cybersecurity efforts in the US as well as in Europe. This workshop is partially funded by a Franco-American collaboration project entitled (Cybersecurity Collaboratory: Cyberspece Threat Identification, Analysis and Proactive Response” that is funded by Partner University Fund (PUF). The first Franco-American workshop on Cyber Security was held in Lyon, Campus Scientifique de la Doua, Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, on 17 and 18 October 2013.

ECE 677: Distributed Computing Systems

ECE 677 Course Description

Design, architecture and programming of distributed computing systems. The course consists of three parts:
1) Networks and Protocols in high performance distributed systems;
2) Architectural issues of designing and implementing disturbed systems (distributed operating systems, distributed file systems, concurrency control and redundancy management, load balancing, and security); and
3) Distributed computing paradigms (shared memory, message passing, and web based computing, virtual computing, and Grid computing).

ECE 509: Cyber Security - Concept, Theory, and Practice

ECE 509 Course Description

This course provides an introduction to technical aspects of cyber security. It describes threats and types of attacks against computers and network to enable students to understand and analyze security requirements and defines security policies. Security mechanisms and enforcement issues will be introduced. Students will be immersed in the cyber-security discipline through a combination of intense coursework, real-world problems, and hands on experiments.
