UA team developing software to prevent cyber attacks

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Hacking into servers and stealing personal information seems to be getting easier by the day.

"We feel attacks are being launched very fast and humans managing the attack detection and protection, it's just not feasible anymore," said Salim Hariri, a professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Arizona.

AZSecure Cybersecurity Fellowship Program

With funding from the National Science Foundation, the AZSecure Cybersecurity Fellowship Program offers full scholarships to qualified students in exchange for government service. The program is intended primarily for Masters MIS students, who receive two years of full funding. In exchange for the funding, the students serve a qualifying, paid summer internship and also commit to working in government service in a qualified agency for two years following graduation. Second Franco American Workshop On CyberSecurity, January 20-21, 2014

The workshop that will be held at the University of Arizona between January 20-21, 2014, will present ongoing cybersecurity efforts in the US as well as in Europe. This workshop is partially funded by a Franco-American collaboration project entitled (Cybersecurity Collaboratory: Cyberspece Threat Identification, Analysis and Proactive Response” that is funded by Partner University Fund (PUF). The first Franco-American workshop on Cyber Security was held in Lyon, Campus Scientifique de la Doua, Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, on 17 and 18 October 2013.
